The daffodils bloomed in our front yard, which means spring is here! A new season means new decorations in our home. Hello, spring home decor 🙂 Below, I describe how I like to bring the colors and elements of spring into our home.

Most of the items I use to decorate for spring are inexpensive and can be used for all seasonal decorating. The Dollar Store, Kohl’s after season clearance and Target Dollar spot are favorite places of mine to shop for inexpensive home decorations. Decorating for spring can be simple, fun and inexpensive!

Spring Decor in the Living Room

We spend most, if not all, of our time at home in the living room. Therefore, most of the decorating I do for spring is in this room. We can enjoy the pops of spring colors and details while playing, watching TV, relaxing or visiting with family.

The fireplace is a focal point of our living room. Therefore, it gets adorned with green ivy and pretty, colorful floral garland. A few plastic eggs set throughout and a wooden bunny garland (Thank you Target Dollar spot!) hanging below create a display perfect for Easter. These command hooks make it really easy to hang something on the fireplace mantle.

Glass vases filled with small pebbles and a candle add charm and elegance to the display. All three items were bought at the Dollar Store. The glass vases make changing out seasonal decorations easy because all you need to do is change what you put inside them.

Simple picture frames holding favorite family photos from past Easter holidays or last year’s spring adventures are an easy, and special, way to decorate for spring.

A basket of special seasonal stuffed animals gives you a way to decorate that is kid friendly. The stuffed animals are from the Dollar Store and were given to my daughter as part of her Easter basket the past two years. My daughter loves to play with them.

A few items from Kohl’s finish off the spring decorations in the living room. The bunny candle holder is fun and playful. The bunny figure and egg tree look natural and realistic. Spring place mats dress up the side tables. They bring those soft, pastel colors synonymous of spring into the room.

Spring Decor in the Kitchen

The areas of our eat-in kitchen I enjoy decorating are the buffet, the top of our pantry cabinet, and stove. I used to put together a centerpiece for the kitchen table, but chose to stop doing this with children.

Butterfly-shaped place mats, bunny candle holders and an egg wreath bring spring colors into our kitchen.

Colorful kitchen towels and a welcome sign let you know spring has sprung! The spring towels with their floral design make drying the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen more fun.

This simple welcome sign was another Dollar Store find. The design is perfect for kitchen spring decor and the size works well for hanging on the side of the cabinets.

A Table Dressed for Spring

The table is the focal point of our dining room. It is where we share meals as a family during holidays and special events. With this in mind, I want to dress up the table with a centerpiece. Plastic Easter eggs and grass for filling baskets are the perfect additions to this spring table centerpiece. The best part is that it cost me less than $10 to make!

In addition to the centerpiece, a set of spring place mats and table runner from Kohl’s add pops of color to an otherwise plain tablecloth.

Welcome to Our Home – Foyer Decor

The tall display shelf in our front entry is where we add seasonal decorations throughout the year.

Hershey Park is a favorite day trip location of ours. This Hershey picture frame is always on display. I simply switch out the picture to a favorite moment at Hershey Park each season.

Plastic Eggs and Easter grass fill a large glass vase. A light up bunny figurine and egg wreath round up the spring decorations in the front entry space.

Use floral garland and a wire wreath frame for create a colorful spring wreath for your front door.

A spring wreath dresses up the front door. Did you know you can make your own spring wreath for under $10? This post describes two different wreaths that are easy and inexpensive to make!

Second Floor Decorating

The final place I enjoy adding spring decor is the large dresser on our second floor landing. This dresser serves as our linen closet since we don’t have a dedicated one in our home. The deep drawers house towels, wash clothes and bed sheets.

While it is a large piece of furniture, the dresser provides a nice surface for displaying more family photos. The height of the dresser keeps the photos (and decorations) out of reach of my little ones.

I folded a colorful flower tablecloth and used it as a table runner for the dresser. Then, I added some green ivy around the picture frames. Plastic Easter eggs with fun patterns on them add additional pops of color. The glass candle holder catches the light coming in the window and makes the perfect centerpiece for this second floor spring display. It makes me smile every time I walk up the stairs.

I look forward to decorating for spring every year. Along with fall, spring is a favorite season of mine. The pretty colors, assortment of flowers and warmer temperatures are quite welcoming after the cold and snowy wintertime. Seeing the bunnies hopping about and hearing the birds chirping on my morning walks make me happy. I love bringing these elements of spring into my home through the decorations I put out.

Thankyou so much for sharing these home decor ideas. I’m renovating my apartment right now and these will come in handy through the process. I see how nowadays the trend is to go minimalistic and decorate one accent wall with random stuff and popping colors, tbh I love the idea. However I wasted alot of time looking for products to suit my theme whereas the right approach was to first look for modern decor store and the products they have to offer then decide the paint theme accordingly. It really saves you energy, you’ll thank me later. I got mine from Wool and Indigo. They’ve some great stuff available online you should check them out.
