Hello April!  Hello Sunshine!  Hello Spring!HelloApril

April is one of my favorite months of the year!  April comes from the Latin Aprilis, which is derived from aperire meaning “to open”. This is synonymous to the flowers and trees starting to blossom and open up during the month of April.  Read below about all the reasons why I love April so much.

Springtime in the ParkHershey Park Springtime

One of my favorite places to visit is Hershey Park.  My husband and I had season passes for 4 years and enjoyed visiting the park and riding all of the roller coasters.  I love the different seasons of Hershey Park.  They have Hershey Park in the Dark during the month of October, Hershey Park Christmas Candylane during Thanksgiving and Christmas, and Springtime in the Park during April.  What makes Springtime in the Park extra special is that it is the start of a new Hershey Park season.  We love the park so much that my husband proposed to me on April 6, 2013 while we were spending the weekend in Hershey.  It really is the sweetest place on earth!

Baseball Season

My husband and I love watching baseball on TV and in person.  April is the start of baseball season.  I’m a Philadelphia Phillies fan and grew up going to games.  My husband loves sports and participates in fantasy baseball.  A few years ago, I told my husband that it would be really cool to visit all of the Major League Baseball parks.  So we started planning summer road trips that centered around visiting MLB parks.  To date, we have visited 15 of the 30 MLB parks!  It has been a lot of fun experiencing all of the different parks and learning what makes each park unique.  There’s nothing more American than going to a baseball game, eating a hot dog and drinking a beer.

Spring has SprungJemmaSpringPicture

April is the first full month of spring, which is one of my favorite seasons.  I enjoy the warmer temperatures and that daylight lasts a few hours past dinnertime.  I am able to take walks and go for runs without bundling up in my winter gear.  The sunshine feels so nice in the spring!  Hearing the birds chirping and seeing the flowers start to bloom makes me happy!  Everything is so colorful, alive and cheerful in the spring; it just lifts my mood!  This spring is extra exciting with my 5 month old daughter; it will be her first time experiencing springtime!  I am looking forward to taking her to the parks for walks, putting her in the baby swings at the playground, visiting the zoo, looking at all the flowers, sitting in our backyard listening to the birds, walking around the outlets and going to baseball games.

Happy Easter

Easter isn’t always in the month of April, but this year it was.  Easter is such a nice holiday because it brings family, friends and communities together for annual Egg Hunts and meals.  My husband and I went to church, had brunch with his parents, and then drove to my cousin’s house for Easter dinner.  It was nice visiting with my family and “passing the baby”.  Jemma loved all the attention and we enjoyed celebrating her first Easter!

Capris & Short-Sleeves

Now that the temperature is warming up, I can wear capris and short-sleeves!  Capris and short sleeved shirts are my favorite things to wear; I find them so comfortable!  Just throw a cute jean jacket or light sweater on and you are ready for the spring weather!
